Job Title : Robotics Research Scientist
Location : Remote, Full-Time
Job Type : Full-time, Permanent
About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading AI and robotics research company seeking a Robotics Research Scientist . This role is ideal for an individual who can apply frontier research principles while maintaining rigorous engineering practices.
You will be at the core of the company's research efforts, responsible for training state-of-the-art (SOTA) locomotion algorithms. Your work will also involve integrating complex sensor arrays and processing large-scale multi-modal data (e.g., vision, audio, sensor readings) from their large fleet of robots. The primary goal is to deploy research that makes a tangible impact in the real world, not just in a lab.
This position requires an interdisciplinary approach and a strong ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to a highly intelligent but non-expert audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply SOTA research in machine learning and robotics to practical, real-world applications.
- Invent and build novel solutions to the unique challenges that arise from deploying robots outside of a controlled lab environment.
- Collaborate with the hardware team to define and design hardware requirements that are directly informed by research problems and goals.
Required Qualifications
Must possess deep expertise in a technical domain that is related or transferable to robotics (e.g., Machine Learning, Control Theory, Computer Vision).A hands-on approach, with a willingness to be directly involved in the challenging work of deploying your research code onto physical, real-world systems.A strong motivation to produce high-impact, publishable research and solve complex problems.Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
A degree or professional experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering .Experience with model optimization for inference (e.g., TorchScript , ONNX , or custom runtimes).Active open-source contributions to PyTorch or other foundational ML tooling.Experience working with Transformer models , diffusion models , or other large-scale vision / NLP tasks.A deep, practical understanding of the real-world limitations of ROS / ROS2 .A history of making significant technical contributions across multiple, varied disciplines. Why Join This Opportunity?
Collaborate with a world-class research team on high-impact projects.Take direct ownership of and help shape the core training code infrastructure used daily by the team.Work on real-world models, large-scale data, and true scale—not "toy" problems.Be a key part of bridging the gap between rapid research velocity and high-quality, production-ready engineering.A flexible work environment with a culture that values in-depth work, clarity, and intellectual curiosity. How to Apply
Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, detailing their experience in robotics and machine learning .
