Why is this role important to us?
A Senior Product Designer with a Visual Focus makes the biggest impact to solving complex challenges by helping to bring ideas to life visually. We count on them to consult, art direct and deliver great design and experience that works not just on our app digitally but also permeates across mediums into non-digital channels.
They lead fellow designers and contribute to the creation of comprehensive, elegant design languages while auditing current implementations, and identify potential areas for simplification and improved consistency.
What can I expect to be working on with the design team?
- Establish a solid foundation for a universal design language that works across all the interconnecting touch points at Flash Coffee, from our app, to our stores down to the cups that is used to serve our award-winning blend.
- Support the continuous improvement or overhaul of both our customer facing and staff facing apps so that we deliver a seamless end-to-end experience from browsing, order to collection.
Here’s how your week might look like
Work as part part of a core team who will do all the research, design, and implementation. You ’ ll help decide what our products and services will look and behave like, working along side many stakeholders (some of whom have strong opinions, but they are all onboard). You have at least 5 five years of proven experience in a similar capacityYou have in-depth knowledge of all the steps required in the creative process and consistently deliver excellent designs that makes other designers look up to you.You have enough curiosity to stay savvy about trends in the UX, design, technology and arts.You can prototype and present beautiful work quicklyYou love a good design challenges and can work independently with minimal directionYou are familiar with Material Design and Apple Human Interface Guidelines and understand the difference between design for mobile and web.We don’t believe in keeping things the way it is just because “this is always how it has been done”. You are unafraid to challenge and ready to improve processes and make things better.This goes without saying, but you should know your way around design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe suite of products such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.You have confidence in your ideas and the ability to communicate them clearly.You follow through—when built, your designs actually look and work like they should. You monitor products after launch and are ready to suggest improvements.We have a unique blend of people from all over the world, so you should be able to speak and understand English.Bonus points
You have experience or education / training from other design disciplines such as industrial design, architecture etc.You have experience in design solutions for a range of mediums including print, video, audio or even spatial.You keep pets such as cats or dogs.
