Head of Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to oversee engineering, facilities, maintenance, and technical operations across our hospitality portfolio. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, efficiency, and operational standards of multiple properties. The ideal candidate has extensive hospitality engineering experience and a proven track record managing large teams and multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and Technical Operations across assigned properties.
• Manage and develop a team of 20+ engineering and facilities employees.
• Establish preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
• Oversee building systems including MEP, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire & life safety, elevators, water systems, and other critical infrastructure.
• Ensure properties comply with local regulations, safety requirements, licenses, inspections, and engineering standards.
• Manage engineering budgets, CAPEX, OPEX, contractors, vendors, and maintenance costs.
• Conduct regular property inspections and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead engineering projects, renovations, refurbishments, and new property openings when required.
• Provide technical leadership and support to General Managers and property management teams.

About you

• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, preferably within hotels, hostels, resorts, or restaurants.
• Proven experience in a senior Engineering, Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, or Head of Engineering position.
• Cluster / multi-property management experience is a major advantage.
• Proven experience managing 20+ employees across engineering, facilities, and maintenance.
• Relevant engineering certification, license, or professional qualification required.
• Strong knowledge of MEP, preventive maintenance, building systems, health & safety, and compliance.
• Strong leadership, project management, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
• Willing and able to travel 90% across multiple locations.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural hospitality environment.
